Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mommas!
My Mother's Day weekend was spent doing .... what else? Being a momma...because when does that job ever end?
I'm not sure about your kids, but my Autumn just loves Legos - of every size. She loves the tiny ones, the duplo size, and the megablocks. She is one of the most creative girls..she just builds things...I can't do what she does. I'm always so impressed with her! Although, Legos make my OCD self kind of cringe. ha!
If you are a Floridian, you know of the best store ever - Publix! This weekend, they were doing a cake decorating. My girls decorated a cake for me - yes... I did have some. Publix cake is the BEST! I might have scraped off some (most) of the decorations though.
But what I loved the most was my card. Aside from Autumn not spelling her name correctly, for some odd reason...it was the first time Brooklynn ever spelled her name all on her own! It's backwards, but all her letters are there!
On this particular day, Saturday, the girls were kind of getting on my nerves... just constantly annoying each other and getting the puppy all riled up, and not letting me get work finished... so you know what I do when that happens?? I pack us up and head to the beach!
It works. They leave me alone, they are nice to each other, they are chasing birds and digging for shells and clams, they are rolling around in the sand or building sand castles.
My sweet little Caroline... she just makes my heart so happy!
On Sunday, my friend and I ran a 10K beach run up in Cocoa. I had to wake up at 4:30. In the morning. Luckily my mom was able to come over the night before to stay the night so that she could be home with the girls until Ron came home from work. It's so hard sometimes with Ron's Fire fighter schedule to be able to do things... I'm so thankful for my parents living here now!
We got to watch the sun rise over the ocean...such a beautiful sight!
You can not tell me that is not beautiful - I mean, God sure did know what he was doing!
During the run, the view was just as beautiful.
At the end, I got my Sand Dollar medal!!
And my two mimosas! Yes please... that's a nice way to celebrate running over 6 miles, if I say so myself.
Then it was off to the beach with my parents and my girls!
This picture of Brooklynn just does me in. Her smile... she just melts my heart!
What an AWESOME 10k!!!!! :) WOW!!! I love the race bling too!!! Congrats on that finish- so impressive!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWow Jen it looks like you had a lot of fun on your run! II love the medal! It's so ironic...I was in Cocoa visiting my parents over Spring Break and I thought of you! I've been reading your blog for years (I think Autumn was oneish) and I just love reading your posts! It would have been fun to run into you (even though you have no idea who I am -lol).
