Boston to Maine - Part 3 {2018}

After some fun in Portland, we left and explored a little more of the "nature" side of Maine. Gosh it's beautiful!

But first... a stop in Freeport...and when in Freeport....

Found an old covered bridge 😍

We got out of the car and we we're instantly attacked by all kinds of bugs. It was another case of "what you do to get a picture" lol.

Even the drive out there was beautiful.

It's been pretty hot here in Maine the last few days...like Florida hot. Which is okay, except our house doesn't have AC (like most houses up here). Of course we're here during the few rare days it's this hot 😑.... But thankfully, the weather is back down to low/mid 70s, thanks to this little rain we got this morning.

So I'm just going to sit in the front porch, listen to the wind rustle the trees, the rain drip, the birds sing, and take in the cool air. 

Oh, and the view isn't bad either.

Pitstop in Boothbay... Got there during low tide and founds TONS of hermit crabs, snails, and sea glass!

Boothbay is a cute little oceanfront town. I'd totally go back and stay there. @ Barrett Park

Caroline fell asleep at the wheel. (her treasure she found was a wheel)

Hiking at Camden Hills State Park.

We took a nice little stroll through the small harbor town and a then a "what the hell are we doing" hike up the side of Mt. Megunticook with 2 kids and a backpack shaped like a 3 y/o.

I think we took the toughest trail. Lol. It was only 1.5 miles, but it was all crazy rock climbing twists, turns, and straight ups. Not to mention, we carried Caroline most of the way. Lol

We almost gave up, but I'm glad we didn't! The view was totally worth it when we got to the top! Of course the pictures don't do it justice.

Then Autumn and I did a little trail running (as much as we could when we were sliding down rocks and such) to head back and get the car.

Definitely a worthwhile pitstop!

When we drive by a beach on the way to our next "hotel", we have to stop!

Even if it's just to put our feet on the sand and skip rocks. @ Lincolnville, Maine

THEN... the finale of our trip... Acadia Nation Park.

Man, it's so beautiful there! We definitely should have alotted more time here, but hey. You live and learn. right?

Drove a little further down the road and came to Otter Cove

And a little further down the road... Jordans Pond @ Acadia.

We decided walking around it would be a good idea.

3.5 miles and 2 hours later...we made it all the way around. Beautiful ... But....

It was SUCH a beautiful day.

The Inn we stayed in for our last 2 nights.

Complete with a fireplace in our room and beautiful views.

On the way to the airport, we stopped at the Penobscot Narrows Bridge

The airport we were leaving from was in Bangor...where Stephen King lives.

We found Stephen King's house.

The house next door was for sale if anyone is interested.

Our flight was delayed and we we're going to miss our connecting flight, so now we're leaving in the morning....

I'm not going to lie, I about cried. Lol if it was just me or just me and Ron...not so bad, but having to do it while tugging along 3 small kids and all their luggage, and keeping them entertained...So it's Incredibles to the rescue!

The next day we left and flew home, and while I was glad to be home, I was so bummed one of my favorite trips ever had come to an end. 

What a FUN FUN trip!
