Boston to Maine, Part 2 {2018}

Planes, trains and automobiles

Adding trains to our list of transportation on this trip.

This morning's adventure was "fun" to add to our memories. We thought we had to go to South station to catch the commuter rail, but nope...the North station.
Going through the subways with 3 kids in tow and all of our luggage was not as bad as it could have been...and people in Boston are very helpful.

We made it to the train station, and now we're headed out to the next destination.

Quick stop in Salem to get the car and lunch.

I found one of my favorite witches while we were there!... But not the Sanderson sisters.

Today we went to Gloucester (the oldest seaport in America, apparently) and went whale watching. We saw tons of activity...and even a few breaches! (Which I did not get on camera).

I learned tons of great facts that I never knew! (That of course, I'm going to add into my whale week in my class)

Caroline spent most the time sleeping. Lol

The 4th of July was spent on the coast of Maine, in Portland.

First we went on a boat ride, like a tour of all the islands.

Then we headed down to downtown Portland, at the park by the water. It was freezing water, but it was so beautiful. I just couldn't get over how pretty it was.

It was probably one of the best firework shows, just because of how clear and bright the night sky was for them.

Went to Freeport and explored Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park today. A hike in the woods along the coast. @ Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park

Then we found a few lighthouses

Some we're in private property, like in a neighborhood in someone's backyard.

So awesome.

Boston to Maine Part 1 {July 2018}

Welllll... our trip started off with a bang!!

A 3 hour delay... but the kids did SO GOOD!!

After getting to the airport 2 hours early (at 4:30 am) and then adding on a 3 hour delay, we finally got on our plane.

Took an Uber from the airport to the hotel, and went on a hunt for food.

We got here later than we expected, so our plans got a little messed up...but we made the best of our time.

But now we're all exhausted and ready for bed at 6:30. Lol

Our hotel was the Omni hotel - the oldest working hotel in America.

They were so excited about riding the subway. Locals were quite entertained by their excitement

Got to tour the main deck of a the naval ship today. The Cassin Young, but The USS constitution was closed today... Of course lol

Then, we headed to the aquarium.

We ate amazing cannoli at Mike's Pastry. Apparently, this is THE place to go to. They were pretty darn good. And we love a good cannoli.

This is one of my all time favorite pictures - of the girls chillin' in the park. The grass was so soft! lol

It was fun, Boston! On to the next adventure.
