Friday Favorites {6.16.23}

Happy Friday, friends!!  Today's post is a quick look at my favorites for the week....

First off... my most favorite thing, is that we got to spend four years with this amazing dog. His life was cut short, unexpectedly, and our week took a huge hit this past week. But we have a lot of amazing memories with him. Caroline (the youngest) asked if dogs go to heaven so she could see him again one day. Sweet girl, I sure hope so.

You can read and see more about him HERE.

My favorite outfits for the week...

My favorite workout outfit this week is one that makes me so happy and cheery! I have mostly been wearing shorts because...you know. Summer.

My outfit for the day - I actually wore the tank and bra to workout in and then I just changed into the summer shorts - they are the best shorts for all day wear! I've worn them hiking, tubing, shopping, to soccer fields, basically EVERYWHERE.

I promise you, once you try them, you won't ever go back.

My favorite Amazon purchase is these shorts! I got them in blue and neon yellow, and then I had to go back and get them in bright pink. I wore them this week and they just made me so happy!

They're on my list of Summer Favorites - because I'll basically be wearing them all summer.

And always, but especially this week, I'm thankful for this man.

He has had quite the last few weeks...

from having to build the closet  because of this...

and making the girls an outside movie theater

and not to mention, he's the one that took Diesel in...

He has shouldered a lot the last few weeks...he's due for a vacation.

Speaking of... we're getting ready to go on our summer trip.

So here are some of my favorites for traveling!

Have a great weekend!

Friday Favorites {6.9.23}

Happy Friday, friends!!  Today's post is a quick look at my favorites for the week....

My favorite recipe from last week's menu ended up being the grilled fish. I decided to do it with black beans and rice, and MAN it made amazing leftovers for the lunch the next few days. lol I used this recipe for the black beans and rice

And these HELADOS MEXICO popsicles are my go-to treats right now! The mini ones are perfect for me.

My favorite outfits for the week...

Honestly, we're basically living in workout clothes and bathing suits.

My favorite workout outfit this week is one that makes me so happy and cheery! I have mostly been wearing shorts because...you know. Summer.

These luxe drawstring pocket hustle shorts are some of my most favorite shorts, ever! Right now, they only have the maroon ones, which I absolutely love!

The girls got new bathing suits from Athleta during their sale, and they are so cute! And all so different. Something for everyone, really.

My favorite purchase? Well... it's not from Amazon.  But these sandals, I have been wearing for FIVE years straight now. I will never go back to regular sandals. I LIVE in sandals, you know, FL girl. But with the pains that I've had in my feet were/are unbearable, until I started wearing these OOFOS sandals. They have a bunch of different styles now, and even slip on sneakers (which I have and LOVE). The sandals are not so cute off, but once you put them on, they're not that bad and by golly they're so amazing you won't even care! These are the best teacher shoes too. I keep a pair at work and wear them around the classroom all day long. And if I can get away with it, I wear them around the school, too. Depends on your admin, I guess ;-)

I promise you, once you try them, you won't ever go back.

My favorite Amazon purchase is these shorts!

and my favorite little dainty letter necklaces from Victoria Emerson are on sale! I got me and all the girls one for Christmas last year. They're so perfect - and perfect for layering, if you like to do that!

see how dainty they are?!

We've had some BEAUTIFUL mornings this week. It's so hard NOT to be outside during these beautiful mornings.

Morning sunrise from my portch

morning walk on the causeway bridge

swimming laps while my daughter was at a birthday party at the North County pool

Lake Atlantic! ha - just because the ocean was so calm, it was a beautiful morning!

Last week, I watched AIR on Amazon Prime. I really liked it! It's not normally something I would watch, but I gave it whirl, and I really liked it!

We FINALLY get to watch the last season of Yellowstone. It's one of my favorite shows.

I'll be back next week! Have a wonderful weekend!

Friday Favorites - travel edition {7.15.22}

Happy Friday and welcome to Friday Favorites - and since we're road trippin' I thought I'd share with you my 5 favorite items for on the road.

Let me preface and say that almost all of these items were because of friends who recommended them. I have no shame in saying that other people have some amazing ideas! Just like teaching. The best teachers know the best ideas to "steal." lol

My Kindle. Honestly. I downloaded a few books on my Kindle before we left and between the road trip and the nighttime reading, I have gone through almost 3 books in less than a week. It's so convenient to take with you. I do love actual books, but the convenience of the Kindle is unmatched. lol I have the Paperwhite, but there are a few different versions out there.

This backpack. It's the Daylight version of a hiker's backpack. I didn't want anything huge, but this is perfect. It holds lightweight jackets, towels, snacks, waterbottles, emergency kit (because you know one of us girls are going to fall and scrape ourselves up. lol). If you're wanting something small, but bigger than a fanny, this is a great backpack!

They are a GAME CHANGER when it comes to packing. I don't know how I ever did it before without these things. I will never go back to not using cubes when packing a suitcase again. In fact, whenever I pack a weekend or overnight bag, I find myself getting annoyed at how messed up and mixed up everything gets. I might start packing a cube for a weekend bag - haha! And in the winter when I need to pack big coats? I fit so many in ONE of these cubes!

When we road trip, I pack the main cooler with all the fridge stuff and then I pack the stuff that we'll need for the trip in this cooler (like sandwich meat, fruit, drinks, etc). Then, during the trip, this is what I pack for when we're gone all day and need to pack food for the whole day. What I like best about it is the tray up top. So I can keep the "fragile" stuff away from getting squished with everything, like sandwiches or chips. I got the "30 can" size for our family of 5. The 16 was too small, it was alike a lunchbox size for me lol. And this size is still small enough to use the shoulder strap and not die.

I love this thing so much. I don't actually see my same print right now, but they have TONS of different patterns and colors. What I love about it is that I don't have to roll it up if it doesn't fit in my suitcase all rolled up. I can just fold it once to make it thinner (because I do PACK that thing). It's huge and can hold a lot in it. The only thing that's not in there is the shampoo, conditioner, and soap (they have their own bag - just in case they decide to leak or explode lol).

Annnnd... Stasher Bags.  They have SO many different sizes and shapes, and they're NOT just for food, although they are AMAZING at packing and storing food. We use them ALL THE TIME for our lunchboxes and storing food in the fridge. Get yourself a multipack so that you can have one of most of the sizes/shapes. I really like this standing up one - I use it for all the medicine we bring (yes, I bring an array of medicine with us, and guess what? We usually need the oddest one. Brooklynn actually used the Gold Bond this trip because she got stung by something - poor kid). I also use the long bag for all of our chargers. Seriously, get a multi-pack and then if they don't have a stand up one, get one of those, too. You won't regret it! lol

Ok - it's about time for me to think about what we're doing today on our last day of the trip. Although it's currently storming, so I don't know what we'll be doing today!
